100 Bullets

100 Bullets, Vol. 1: First Shot, Last Call100 Bullets, Vol. 1: First Shot, Last Call by Brian Azzarello
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Interesting book. Azzarello has a good handle on dialog and Risso's art style works very well with the stories in the book. Lots of unanswered questions that, I assume, are answered later in the series ( as this only reprints issues 1-5). Still, its worth reading if you're into crime novels and such.

CHEW Volume 4

Chew, Vol. 4: FlambéChew, Vol. 4: Flambé by John Layman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This has been a very enjoyable and unpredictable series. I never know what to expect. The stories have been funny and interesting. I keep wanting to know more about what's going on, the characters and can't wait for the next installment.
Alien writing in the sky, a rooster who is a USDA agent and a living weapon, a guy who gets smarter when he's eating and he eats alot, vampires, cyborgs, explosive food... it's keeps getting weirder!

Walking Dead #100

The Walking Dead Issue #100The Walking Dead Issue #100 by Robert Kirkman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Walking Dead is getting a bit disappointing for me lately and this issue, is no exception.

SPOILERS-

Glen is killed. Yep, that's it. They meet the local thugs, get caught and he sends them a message by killing Glen. Eh, it's ok. I expected more. Like Maybe Rick getting killed. Something to radically alter the book at this point. Again, very little action, lots of dialogue. Maybe it's me but it's starting to wear thin. This was the first single issue I've bought of the Walking Dead. I'll stick with the graphic novels from here on out.

Sunday

Kind of a short day. Got some mundane things done. Laundry. Cleaning. Really hot outside. Stayed inside for most of the day. Back to work tomorrow. Joy.

Chew Vol.3 Just Desserts

Chew, Vol. 3: Just DessertsChew, Vol. 3: Just Desserts by John Layman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What more can I said that I haven't already said about Vol. 1 & 2? I read both this volume and volume 2 in the same evening, if that says anything. I an really enjoying this series! Great characters and you find out MUCH more about the main character in this volume (meet the family!). The book has managed to stay fresh and interesting as well as a bit wacky while making the characters very interesting. It's a great book!

Chew Vol. 2 International Flavor

Chew, Vol. 2: International FlavorChew, Vol. 2: International Flavor by John Layman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh, yes. I am really enjoying this book on a number of levels. I'm interested in the characters, I enjoy the humor and I'm enjoying the main story (which looks to be going the length of the series). No spoilers here, just saying that this graphic novel is worth a read.

Chew Vol.1

Chew, Vol. 1: Taster's ChoiceChew, Vol. 1: Taster's Choice by John Layman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a really fun, interesting, sarcastic and weird book. Took me a bit to get used to the artist's style, but now I really think it works well with the story. The book is set in the not too distant future when chicken has been outlawed (due to bird flu killing millions) and the FDA has some real authority over the public with raids for illegal chicken outfits.
The main character has the ability to eat anything and "remember" what happened to whatever he eats. The more he eats, the more info he gets. Yeah, I said it was weird. The book had me laughing out loud, interested in the different mysteries that are on going and in the characters.
