Yeah, shocked the hell out of me. Tomorrow will be interesting. Some kind of Jewish holiday tomorrow will stop the Congress from doing anything. Had a friend of mine tell me she had $4500 worth of Wachovia stock which is now worth about $75 sense Citicorp has bought Wachovia.

The Bailout Vote
Well, it's not a done deal yet. Wachovia is gone. Maybe more bad news will get Congress of it's ass and do something. This is a great chance to regulate Wall Street. This has to be done and I'm hoping Obama will raise taxes on people making over $250 thousand per year. Both are, in my opinion, great ideas.

Jang Jin-young diagnosed with cancer

Jang Jin-young has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. After a routine health check on September 17th, the cancer was discovered on September 22nd. The 34 year old actress will be undergoing chemotherapy treatments starting today.
The 1992 winner of the Miss Korea Choongnam is currently the face for the luxury skincare line, SKII and starred in the drama, the Lobbyist with Han Jae-suk.
FYI. Stomach cancer is one of the most prevalent types of cancers among the Korean people. Research suggests that the cause is attributed to the consumption of salted and broiled foods.
Now, this has nothing to do with Winston Salem or anything in my life. I just find it interesting that Stomach cancer is so common in Korea. It just strikes me as odd and intersting.
Is Sarah Palin Dumber Than Bush??
My God! This woman simply cannot become VP. I swear, if McCain wins this fall, I'm moving out of the USA. Why? It will be the end. Stick a fork in America, it's done.

The Economy
Democrats need to stand up to Bush (finally). No blank checks for golden parachutes. The industry needs to be re-regulated, protections need to be in place for the American people and compensation for CEOs need to be addressed (limits on compensation sounds good).
All this is just showing that the Republican theory on economics just doesn't work. Trickle down doesn't work. If we're lucky, we'll be able to avoid the second Republican Great Depression.

Mozella's
End of My Vacation
Yes, it's back to work for me and I'm not looking forward to it. I had a pretty good time this week. I just stayed at home and hung out around downtown. No traveling for me this week. It's nice to have a bit of a break before we get into the holidays. Going to keep it brief as I do have somethings to do tonight.

The Meltdown
It would be supremely satisfying to hear one honest politician in the US Government tell the American working class the truth....
All the wild speculating, unscrupulous profit making, greed, irresponsible foreclosures, and Wall Street shenanigans have cost America a lifetime of hard work for every man woman and child. And the only way we will recover from this meltdown is on the backs of the work class.
The working class (the people who do real work and have managed their finances responsibly) will end up, albeit indirectly, paying for every last penny lost during the foreclosure crisis. The burden is squarely on middle class workers as is always the case in time of crisis. If responsible working class American's do not pick up the tab, America"s financial markets will implode.
The only way stop this legalized theft from happening is better governmental oversight. Phil Gramm is one of the lunatics who's financial ideology got us into this mess. And we all know that us whiners, as he likes to calls us, will pick up the pieces and put his Wall Street back together again. As usual it will be the whiners who will pay the price and restore the democracy!
Trickle down, free market, supply side, deregulated, small government just does not work!

Cafe Prada
Hanging out at Prada this morning. Very nice guys that own the place. Just kicking back and having a latte. Going to have a nice walk down to Obama's HQ to see if the yard signs have arrived. It's a great day!

What will be Enough?
With everything that the Bush Administration has done and the fact that McCain supported them 90% of the time, just what will it take for Republicans to wake up and see that their way of doing things does nothing but harm to America? Republicanism, in my humble opinion, is anti-American. It's against looking out for your fellow man, building a society and encouraging us to improve our lives. It increases the attitude of everyone for themselves, increases the general misery of the public and destroys society. What will it take?

So, I'm Downtown Today
Spending some of my day downtown. Right now I'm at the Brew Nerds. They bought out Sin coffee and moved in about a month ago. Not a bad cup of coffee and...hey, they installed outlets for us laptop users! Big plus for those of us battery challenged. Just went by One Park Vista and took a look at their open unit. Not bad, but I REALLY like the corner unit next to it.
