Republican Debate

I have to admit, I watched the Republican debate last night on CNN. Typical stuff. Restrict freedom, screw the poor, destroy the planet. The only one I have an ounce of respect for is McCain. He lit into Romney on torture and I'm really glad he did. He's right, the US should not be using torture, we're SUPPOSED to be better than that. We were, once upon a time....

Ziggy's

Well, Ziggys has closed, maybe for good. Really, I won't miss it. It's been years sense there was a band there that I wanted to see. The Garage has taken it's place for me as they tend to book music and events that appeal to me. Ziggys may reopen downtown and the rumor is, it'll be on Fourth St. across from Downtown Thai. I'd be really surprised if that happened.

Thanksgiving

Well, it's almost here. I will have the day before and the day of off, for a change. Looking forward to having a relaxing Wednesday. Not sure what all I'll do, but I'm thinking about just hanging out in downtown Winston for most of the day.

Speakeasy Jazz

Went down to Speakeasy last night and had a good time. I stayed until about 11pm. There were just a few people there. It was open mike night, but mostly just the trio playing. Still, it was nice just to get out and be somewhere for the evening.

Dan Besse 08

Interesting day so far. Got up a bit later and had quite a bit of sleep thanks to the time turning back an hour. Went to a brunch for Dan Besse who is running for Lt. Governor of North Carolina. Great food and Dan's speech was short and to the point. He's a likeable guy and I hope he gets elected. I'm adding a link to his website in the Politics section, but till I get to it, here it is-

I'm going to watch The Simpson Halloween show tonight and just relax. Once in a while, it's nice just to do nothing.
