You Get What You Deserve
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."
H.L. Mencken (1880 - 1956)
Many thanks to Mick Scott for the quote.

Dreams
Well, I had the oddest dream. I had to have most of my mouth and face removed because I had gotten Mouth Cancer. Weird. I remember it creeping me out in my dream.
I don't remember my dreams very often and usually they are fairly silly, IMHO.
Went to a dinner party this past saturday night. Had a good time. I think the fact that I was talking most of the evening to an Oral Surgeon MAY have had something to do with my dreams....

Breaking up....
Well, not me. Nor does it look like it will happen anytime, but I did read that "Breakup Babe" has landed a book deal from her Blog. Man, maybe I need to write about my break up and the nightmares I went thru. I had to move out of town and stay pretty much to myself for over a year at one point.
Eh, I guess it could have been worse. I wound up enjoying myself in the big, new city and made better money both there and when I returned, so....
Was it worth it? Good question. Sorry, no answer.

Music, Music, Music....
It's been a while sense I have recommended any music here. Props to Shayne for turning me on to this group. SPOTTISWOODE & HIS ENEMIES. Listening to samples on the CD Baby website and the reviews there sold me on buying the first two CDs. Some of the music really reminds me of Tom Waits. Check it out, ok.

Thomas Jefferson on President Bush.....
"A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt. But If the game runs sometimes against us at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake."
--Thomas Jefferson, June 4, 1798, in a letter to John Taylor after passage of the Alien and Sedition Acts.
'Nuff Said.

Holidays are Here.....
Well, not quite, but I'm hearing the christmas music in the mall. Way too early for that in my humble opinion. By the time Christmas gets here, I am sick of it! Doing ALL my shopping this year online. Can't stand the maddening crowds at the stores. I'm outta here!
Taking Time
Went to a bonfire birthday party last night. It was cold but the fire was nice. At one point, it got very hot and I lean back in the chair I was sitting in and looked up at the sparks flying up into the clear night sky. I can't tell you when was the last time I just looked up at the stars. I really miss being a child for that reason. There always seemed to be plenty of time.

Mistaken
Seems like Bush has been asked a couple of times now if he has made any mistakes during his presidency. Both times, he's had some trouble coming up with any. I think this video will help him out. Just click on the title above.

Newly re-elected President Bush could replace a number of Supreme Court justices over the next four years. The youngest justice is 56, the oldest is 83, and Chief Justice William Rehnquist -- who revealed last week that he is being treated for thyroid cancer -- is 80. Any appointee could spur a contentious fight in the Senate, scene of bitter confirmation battles in the past.

I wish I had said this.....
Four more years of American soldiers being used as cannon fodder.
Four more years of scientific decisions being made by people who believe in a ghost in the clouds.
Four more years of debt that our children and grandchildren will have to pay off.
Four more years of racists and lunatics for judicial appointments
Four more years of looting the treasury and squandering it on corporate cronies.
Four more years of making enemies faster than we can kill them.
Four more years of fear and darkness and racism and hatred and stupidity and guns and bad country music.
I look at the big map and all of the red in flyover country and I feel like I've been locked in a room with the slow learners. We have become the country that pulls a dry cleaning bag over its head to play astronaut.
Too true. Too true......

Here We Go Again....
It's too close to call, folks. Yet FOX (fascist Only News) has called it for Bush.
Folks, if you're watching/ getting your news from FOX, it's like living in the old Soviet Union and getting your news from Pravda.
Frankly, if Bush does win by the margin there is now, it's no great victory. You'd think a president- 1) With the country "At War". 2) With country concerned with security. 3) With the country having decent economic numbers. Would have won in a landslide. Heck, Kerry was a weak opponent, even! The country is devided and Kerry did not capture the heart of most democrats.
Well, I have got to go, more later.....
