Missing Cincinnati

It's not missing, rather I miss it. For example, tomorrow I have to drive to ANOTHER CITY to see Mike Moore's F 9/11. Winston has two multiplexes BOTH owned by Carmike and neither are showing F9/11. The Stevens Center MAY show it. Months from now. Horrible seats and poor sound quality, but it's the only thing going in Winston.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Unity Project's multiplex will feature some art/foriegn films. We'll see how it will pan out.

Gore's Speech for MoveOn

I just got the speech he gave on dvd from the MoveOn pac and all I can say is, wow. Where was this guy during the 2000 election? Finally, some passion from this guy. He REALLY lays into Bush and the administration. "Bush's incompetence has made the world a far more dangerous place". If interested, you can get a copy of the speech from MoveOn.org

Fahrenheit 9/11

Check out the trailer to Mike's new movie. Just click on the title above. I hear people saying Mike is nothing more than a propaganda minister for the left. Well, people that do documentaries generally do them because it interests them and they want to tell others. Do I think Mike is a bit over the top? Sure. Do I think he lies and frabricates and the truth, no.
Propaganda to me is the FOX News Network (and, to a lesser extent, our local WSJS600 AM). Constant distortion and lies to fit what they see is what is right. Watching a FOX news broadcast, I imagine, is much like listening to the radio in Nazi Germany.

Five Easy Pieces

Sunday. Did some mulching today and I'm pooped. Watched and old (1970) movie with Jack Nicholson, Five Easy Pieces. It was nominated for an Academy Award. The movie starts out REALLY slow. It gets pretty interesting in the last half and turns out to be a good movie. Check it out.

Half way thru 2004

First of June and we are half way 2004. I'm off today and trying to get a fence put up while doing some mulching. Beautiful day outside. Musical suggestion of the day- Hamell on Trial. I saw him a couple months ago and he is terrific. Kind of punk meets folk. www.hamellontrial.com
